Stimulus Relief Package 2021

Stimulus Relief Package 2021

To-date, the IRS had delivered upto 164 million stimulus payments worth $386 billion during the COVID-19 relief package signed by President Biden on March 11, 2021. This relief bill was passed by the Congress under the famous American Rescue Plan Act containing upto $1.9 trillion funds offering economic assistance to millions of individuals.

Third Stimulus Relief Package 2021

The American Rescue Plan Act 2021 offers individuals and their families the economic assistance they needed badly due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Millions of Americans waited for their third stimulus package to make ends meet. However, the SSA informed that the delay has being caused due to several of these SSDI beneficiaries not having filed their tax returns in the year 2020. Once these claimants started to file their annual federal tax returns for 2020, their checks started pouring in to their mail. On March 25, the remaining SSDI beneficiaries who had not yet received their third stimulus checks started to get the payments.

Moreover, the remaining claimants who had still hadn't filed the tax returns for the year 2019 or 2020 or had not used the IRS non-filer tools last year, got their payments later until April 7, 2021. Hence, as a result around $25 million out of the $30 million beneficiaries had subsequently received their first, second and third stimulus check for Covid-19.

However, the Social Security Administration has listed guidelines for those claimants who hadn't receive either of the first three stimulus checks – also for beneficiaries who hadn't gotten the full amount in their stimulus payments.

New Stimulus Payment

In order to receive the stimulus payments of upto $1400 per individual and $2800 for eligible married couples filing jointly, the remaining individuals need to file a 2020 tax return and claim the 2020 recovery rebate credit (RRC).

How to Get the Fourth Stimulus Check in 2021

If you haven't received any of the three stimulus checks or haven't received the full amount, you just need to file the 2020 tax return even if you have no income report for 2020. If you have paid it, you just need to notify the IRS of your filed tax returns. Also, once the tax returns are confirmed by the IRS and cross checked from the SSA, claimants would receive the RRC as a tax refund. Moreover, the IRS would send in any additional third stimulus amount owed in 2021 separately.

**Note that if the IRS does not have an individual's direct deposit information, the individual will then be receiving payments via physical checks or Economic Impact Payment (EIP) debit cards
